New York ComicCon

Tomorrow is Day One of New York Comic Con I'm going to be there all weekend, set up at the Atlas Unleashed table (Booth #456). We have some wicked-cool comics that we will be selling, and then we'll be hostingthe hotest party of the weekend, the Indie after party at Blaggards! 8 W. 38th Street, Saturday, October 9th.

The Indie After Party promises to be kickin' and I'm really excited to be associated with both it, and Atlas Unleashed. Plus I'm simply besides myself that my characters (The Wulf Girlz) are going to be a part of  the War of the Independents (hey, not only are they in the series, but they even have trading cards TRADING CARDS!)

Oh yeah, I also want you all to look for an indie comic tie-in to the War of the Independents, the comic is called Shadowflame. You can order your copy of the Shadowflame Graphic novel (with a wicked-cool wraparound cover by comic book legend John Byrne) right now (as soon as you are finished reading this blog). The Previews Order code for Shadowflame is GN (SEP10 0773).

No go and buy a ton of 'em all! (Then seek out and purchase the Wulf Girl comic when it comes out later this year.)

One Step closer!

Yeah, yeah, we’ve all heard about the Spider-Man Broadway Musical that is being scored by Bono & The Edge (that no one thinks will ever see the light of day), but well, as it turns out, U2 just played Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me, the first song from the Spider-Man musical to get play, which the band played while on tour in Portugal.

OK, so it’s not a catchy jingle that can lead into an animated TV show, but, hey, perhaps this means that the play just might actually be made (or, at the very least U2 might release the music on a CD or something.

I’ve decided to keep my daughter (for now at least)

So, today my sometimes cranky daughter needed to tap me for cash so she could go out with her girlfriends to do some shopping for one of her team sports, so I lent her the cash with the understanding that we would settle up later.

Well, she came home with not only whatever silliness that she need to buy (plus my change), she also brought home a couple of very cute Spidey things that she picked up at the Dollar store.

A jigsaw puzzle

A math flash-card game

A numbers & counting workbook for kids
Seriously, how cool is all of this? If my daughter was trying to get on my good side this week, she certainly got off on the right foot.

*Ppfszt!

Hey kids, today is a banner day as I just got my exclusive copy of *Ppfszt! #28, fresh off the press from Main Enterprises. Don’t be embarasded if you are unfamiliar with this particular title, it is a (very) small press comic published by an old buddy of mine, one Jim Main. This particular issue of *Ppfszt! is of particular interest because it carries one of my stories (entitled Too much coffee, Man).

Hey! I have a story in this issue!

(And yes, it is dedicated to Shannon Wheeler).

More about this later.Shannon
