*PPFSZT to you too!

A few months back, Jim Main the head honcho of Main Enterprises, published a short story of mine, entitled, Too much coffee, Man. in his publication *PPFSZT #28. Well Jim induced me to submit a second story, which I did, and this second story appears in *PPFSZT #30. This second story (like the first) was illustrated by the extraordinarily talented Jack Bertram. The second story is entitled Tea Party.

Jim has three more of my stories that he will be publishing, one is entitled Papyrus (illustrated by the very talented Alex Lopez), a second is entitled Regret (yet to be illustrated), and the third (which I just handed in) is entitled Slabbed.

I have to say that I’m really enjoying submitting stories to Jim. He has about a dozen eclectic publications that he produces on (apparently) random publishing schedules.

Oh, I also contributed an article to Comic Fan #6 about our mutual friend Rusty Haller.

Rusty, we barely knew ye...

I know that it was a while ago that my friend Rusty Haller passed away, but this eulogy that I wrote for him at that time has just shown up in print in Jim Main’s Comic Fan #6.

I wanted to alert you all to Jim’s very cool fan publication, and to urge you all to rush right out and pick up a copy of your own.

Jim (and the guys who work with him on each issue) work hard on this stuff, and do it for the love of the industry. They could use your support.

Plus the stuff they talk about is wicked cool.


Oh yeah, I almost forgot (in fact I actually did) I wrote reviews of three (very cool) indie comics in that appear in this issue. So you’ll want to pick this issue up for that as well.

the Main Comic Fan

Jim Main is an old friend of mine., I met him a couple of decades back through mutual friends, one of whom being D.W. Armstrong. Back then Jim was running a comic shop up in New Milford, CT. Well the years passed and I lost track of Jim, only to rediscover him again a few months back when an artist friend of mine, Hal Jones, brought him back to my attention.

Well, it seems in the inter veining years, Jim has been publishing magazines about comics. Well, he was kind enough to send me a copy of his most recent, Comic Fan #4, which spotlights one of my favorite band of 60’s superheroes, The T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents. The issue is a very wonderful walk down memory lane as well as revealing of some T.H.U.N.D.E.R. tidbits that even I did not know. Like Steve Skeates was not only there at the dawn of the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. age, but that he worked at Marvel as Stan’s assistant for two weeks before Roy Thomas showed up.

Anyway, Comic Fan is but one of a number of comic mags that Jim publishes, stop by his site and check out what else he has to offer, and as long as your there you should probably buy something from him. I know that he’ll enjoy that.
