More Fast Food Toys

OK, so it’s been a couple of days since I’ve been here but I haven’t been idle, I’ve been scoring some fast food toys (among other things). First up, I picked up a couple of Lego race cards at McDonald’s. While I’m normally a big Lego fan, these toys are only three pieces each (it tool longer to affix all of the decals than assemble the car itself), which puts this way down on the Lego coolness scale as far as I’m concerned.



Next up, are a couple of more G.I. Joe toys from Burger King. Again, I’m really not a big fan of the flick, but the toys are OK (to be sure, I was hoping for one of the other figurines, not a vehicle or device (which is what I scored this time out).

Not quite sure if I’ll be getting any more of either of these sets, as I’m just not really impressed with either set, but I suppose that they are cool enough for the younger kidlings.

I’ll have to try checking out some of the other fast food places to see what else is out there these days.

Who watches the Watchmen?

I just came across this poster of the upcoming Watchman film. While I, like the rest of you am disturbed by the reports that the film may be held up due to some litigation over the distribution of it, I am ever hopeful that cooler heads (and deep pockets) will prevail, and the film will be out on time.

Beyond that I really have nothing to report, other than to hook you to a site that is comparing the film's trailer to panels from the comic itself, an (from what we can see) it seems that the film is following in the footsteps of the comic. This can only be good.

However, there are currently reports that the ending of the film has been altered from the comic (I can’t imagine why).

Put this firmly into the "might not be true" category of your brains, and then take it with an additional grain of salt. I hesitate to even spread this further because it is unverified, but I think it's worth discussing. And hey, maybe someone who caught the movie might weigh in.

Needless to say, I’m hoping this report is true. In the mean time, I’m loving this Lego Watchman poster.

Batman (Lego) to the rescue

Like I reported the other day, McDonald’s is currently dispensing Batman Lego, as a tie-in to the release of the Batman Lego videogame. Earlier this week I managed to score the first two (of eight) toys. Well, yesterday, I grabbed up the remaining six, which I present below:

These two cardboard standees come with two of the other toys, and act as targets for the missiles that can be fired from most of the other toys.

While I think that the toys are very cool (Batman + Lego + fast food toys! How could you go wrong?) I wish that the figures themselves were actual Lego, rather than just preformed toys. Still, the toys are based on the Batman Lego videogame, rather than the Batman Legos themselves, so I suppose that Mickie D’s can be forgiven.

That’s right kiddies, in honor of the new release of the new Batman Lego videogame, Mcdonald’s is giving away Batman Lego toys. Yep, you heard that right, Batman Lego toys. Now what could be cooler than Batman Lego toys (except perhaps Spider-man Lego Toys — but that goes without saying, ‘natch).

Anywhoo, like I said, there are eight of these very cool Batman Lego toys, currently at McDonald’s. Here are the first two.
