Sure it is nearly two months away, but it is coming none-the-less, and it is a national holiday dedicated to comicbook fans everywhere the world over!
OK, OK. It isn’t a national holiday (yet) nor is it truly the world over (today the U.S. next year, the world!), but it should be. Needless to say, it is a very cool event that celebrates comic books and their creators by giving fans something that they want.
FREE COMIC BOOKS!
So mark it down on your calendars in ink, and make sure you get to your local comicbook shop for the event. This year there are 41 comics, and three HeroClix figures (two Star Wars Figures and an Iron Man). The Comics are from Marvel DC, Archie, Bongo, Dark Horse, Dynamite, Virgin, Arcana, Impact, Walt Disney, E.C., TwoMorrows, Wizard, and more!
I’m telling you that this event gets better and better every year! Hey, I’m so happy I’ve put a (semi)permanent link to the site over on my nav bar to the right.
This is the place where I discuss all things Sacred and Profane. Stop by and check me out. Leave a comment (or not), as this is done for my own amusement. If you too are entertained, all the better, but that is not the motivation here. For I, am a...Writer with attitude! Comics, Sci Fi, movies, TV, Books, the Internet, Pop Culture, you name it. I talk about all of these things and more. These are the things that entertain me. I can only hope that some of them will entertain you as well.

This year will mark the first time I've ever taken part in a FCBD. It sounds like a lot of fun. And the best part? FREE comic books! There a limit to how many comics the shops let you take?
Well, some shops do put a limit on the number of comics you can take, while others do not. Also, not all shops will have all of the comics.
Awwww, bummer. Ah, well. free comics are still free comics. My store is pretty generous so I may walk out with more than a few books.
It does help if you are a regular customer. I know that the store I go to used to restrict the amount of books you could get, but the owner did allow me to take one of everything (mostly because of my semi-pro status).
I'm a regular customer at my shop as well. Heck, the owner gives us 10% off everything we buy! BTW, you do good work over at SpiderFan.org.
(Blush) Thanks.
