SHOCKED six-year-old Leah Lowland checked out a mystery bulge on her Incredible Hulk doll ? and uncovered a giant green WILLY.I guess I can only hope that this is some sort of “non-sanctioned” doll that was produced by a rogue toymaker. The story ran in the British tabloid, The Sun (granted, the story seems to be from 2003, but still!).
Curious Leah noticed a lump after winning the monster, catchphrase “You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry,” at a seaside fair.
And when she peeled off the green comic-book character’s ripped purple shorts, she found the two-inch manhood beneath them.
Horrified Leah immediately ran to mum Kim and reported the find. And last night Kim called for a ban on the saucy toy. She said: “A hulk with a bulk like this just shouldn’t be allowed.
“Considering the doll is only 12-inches tall it’s amazing how big his willy is.”
This is the place where I discuss all things Sacred and Profane. Stop by and check me out. Leave a comment (or not), as this is done for my own amusement. If you too are entertained, all the better, but that is not the motivation here. For I, am a...Writer with attitude! Comics, Sci Fi, movies, TV, Books, the Internet, Pop Culture, you name it. I talk about all of these things and more. These are the things that entertain me. I can only hope that some of them will entertain you as well.

No really, WTF?!?!?!
OK, I'm for, well fun stuff, and I do so love my superheroes, but seriously, who’s idea was this?
Crossing over
So, you might have picked up on the fact that I enjoy Spider-Man, Well, if you didn’t then (you are a dunce) note this. In Superman #701, a certain photographer for a great metropolitan newspaper was recently spotted.
For those of you who aren’t aware, the “crossing over” of characters between various comicbook companies is, well, rather common, all things being considered. These are usually fun homages between guys who work in the same industry, and greatly enjoyably “Easter Eggs” by us fans.
Anyway, here is the panel in question.
Hope you enjoy this as much as did I.

Night of the Bat(man)
OK kiddies, as stated, I was able to get out to McDonald’s today and scor the entire set of eight (yep, all eight) Batman toys. So, without further adieu, here are the pics...
See, I told you this was cool, eh? Don’t you wish you were me?
Batman
Joker
Aquaman
Batman Family

Creatures of the night
OK, not really, but sort of. Just last month McDonald's featured a set of Marvel Hero toys, well, this month they are going the other way as it were and featuring a set of DC superhero toys. Headlined by DC's own dark creature of the night, Batman...
It looks like Green Arrow, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman are also involved, along with villains, the Joker and Black Manta. Looks like I know where I'm going to for lunch today, eh, droogs?

Forward into the past!
Now here is an interesting “pre-made” movie. Someone (who obviously had a large amount of time on their hands) imagined how an Avengers movie would have looked had it been assembled in 1952, rather than 60 years later in 2012.
Now, if you want to see a frame-by-frame breakdown of this film, check out this vversion of the vid
(You might want to hit the pause button to better read the captions as they flash on the screen)
Now I can hardly wait for the “new” version.

The Girlz have it
If you haven’t been following my web-comic (you darn well should!), Girl Skout Warz, I just wanted to tell you all that the next installment has recently been posted, so now is a good time for you to head over and look it up.
To get there, go over to InkBot.net. There are a bunch of other nifty-cool web-strips up there, check them out as well.

The way of all web...
For several years I have been posting movie reviews @ PopThought.com. Over the past couplee of years, the attendance and posting had begun to decline, then about a year or so back, the Site administrator abandoned the site to move on with new projects, around that same time, the webmaster stopped paying for hosting, and over the next several months I continued to put up my film reviews.
Well, I went to the site last night and it was finally gone for good.
While I’m very sorry that the site is gone, it isn’t like I didn’t know that this day was coming. So, fir the short term, I will be posting my movie reviews over at Cuppacafe.com, and it has now given me a renewed desire to set up my own site where I can host the reviews myself. Look for that later this year.
Gone, but not forgotten...

Schizophrenia
Both titles are horror anthologies.
OK, I’ve been hinting about this for quite some time, but haven’t yet shown it off, it is the first title of Atlas Unleashed, the start-up publisher that I’m associated with these days. My good friend, Mark Mazz is the publisher, President of the company, Visionary, and inspiration behind it all (he is also the constant buzzing sound I hear in the back of my head whenever I fall behind on the creative end of my own work).
This book has been out for a month or so now, and will be one of the titles that we will have on display at our table at the upcoming New York Comic Con (October 8 - 10, 2010 at the Jacob K. Javits Center). To be sure, we are hoping to have a couple of other titles also available, but more on them later. Right now I want to talk about Schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is the sister title to Psychosis! (to be re-released and retitled Psychosis Today! If Psychosis Today! is the doorway to madness, then Schizophrenia steps on through to the other side.
Both titles are horror anthologies that delve into the darker things that frighten us. Personally, I find the stories that I read in these two books much scarier than most of the hack and slash films that proport to be horror films.
In this debut issue we find a disturbing tail written by Nathan Barker and illustrated the the always talented and ever-lovely Shawnti Therrien entitled Static Lullaby, This is followed by Angry Man, which was written Acevedo-Marcarzan, and is one of the last stories illustrated by Rusty Haller. Compulsion is by Rich Terdoslavich, and the issue is rounded out by the Mark Mazz & James Web story A visit with good ole...Doctor Frommenstadt.
I hightly suggest that you get uyour hands on a copy of this extraordinary comic, and, well, enjoy yourself. Hopefully we will have e-commerce up on the website soon, but in the meantime, if you get yourselves to the NY Comic Con, you'll be able to find us in Artist's Ally. Swing on by, say high, and pursue this and the other comics we'll be selling there.

New Rules
Hey folks, I've been getting a person or autobot who is posting on this site in Oriental characters. Not only are the the posts (naturally) unintelligible to me, but they are very often simply a series of dashes that always lead to some site that is either adult or sales in nature (or both). I've been deleating them as soon as they appear, but it is is something of a chore, and I don’t want my regular readers to be accidently diverted to some inappropriate site, so I've changed the posting options for this site to “moderated” for the time being.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause my regular readers.

The Official index to the Marvel Universe V2
Yep, here it is, issue #4 of Vol 2 of The Official index to the Marvel Universe, and once again I’m contributing to the index. As you can all see, we are covering The Avengers, Captain America, and Thor (the subjects of the next three movies), and again, I’m contributing to both the Thor and Captain America entries.
I’m assuming that we are going to run this series out to around 12-14 issues, bringing the indexing to whatever issues are current at the time we reach the end. I also have to figure that Marvel will once again turn the collected listings into a trade paperback which will then be released to book stores.
So, that’s it for now. Stay tuned.

More cool Spidey Stuff
Here are a couple of nifty Spidey- (and Marvel-) related items that my wife brought back to me from Virginia when she visited my niece.
These appear to be Marvel taffy (I’ll let you know how good they taste when I’ve had some). then there are these Spidey Washcloths.
She also brought me back a page from a Spidey Coloring book that was “colored” by my great nephew, Alex, but I seemed to have left it at my office (bummer). I’ll get it on Monday and scan it in for you all. It is the coolest.

Wicked-cool Spidey Stuff
So my lovely niece stopped by yesterday and brought with her, not only my lovely daughter (who was babysitting for her kids all summer long), but my great neice and great nephew, who brought me some very cool Spidey-related stuff.
Sweet, eh?
Love those kids!

Batman #1 up for Auction
As many of you already know, earlier this year, Action #1 (the first Superman) sold at auction for a cool million, a few weeks later, Detective #27 (the first Batman appearance) was gobbled up for a mil-five. Now we hear that Batman #1 is up for sale, and is expected to net over $40,000!
A longtime Alaska comic book buff is selling one of the gems in his vast collection, a rare copy of Batman No. 1 published 70 years ago.Personally, we’re still awaiting news on how much Amazing Fantasy #15 (a comic we own), which was the first appearance of Spider-Man is going for these days.
Mike Wheat of Fairbanks has put the 1940 comic book on the auction block through Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries, where it's expected to fetch more than $40,000. Online bids already have climbed to $35,000 for the book, believed to be one of fewer than 300 still in existence.
Online bids will compete with a live auction set for Thursday.
Hail, Hail, the gang’s all here!
Together again, for the first time (at least in my collection) the Marvel heroes.
Now I just need to find Thing & Hulk for Jon.

Hulking happy!
OK kids, I managed to score the Hulk form the McDonald's new Marvel Hero set, and here he is.
OK, so that makes one set. However I still need to acquire another Hulk and another Thing so I can round out the second set for my New Zealand buddy, Jon.

Marvel Hero Madness
So you all know that I've been hunting up the Marvel Hero figures that are currently at McDonald’s, well, as it turns out, they just hit the franchise this past weekend, and well, most of the McD’s in my area are already sold out of them.
Yeah, you read that correctly, they are almost all out already. I have no explanation for this, Excepts perhaps because the figures them selves are larger than you normally get, and well, it is just after the San Diego International Comic Com.
Well, this is something of a bummer for me, as I still need Hulk to complete my set, as well as Tjhing and Hulk to complete a second set for a buddy of mine in New Zealand.
So if anyone out there sees the Hulk (or another Thing), let me know.
